Hockey Club Luxembourg has a new home surface at the Boy Konen sports complex in Cessange, Luxembourg City. The existing hockey field has been replaced with GreenFields TX Pro, providing the club with a high performance water based surface for training and competition. For Hockey Club Luxembourg, the project represents an important investment in the facilities available to a growing hockey community.
A home for hockey in Luxembourg
Founded in 1976, Hockey Club Luxembourg has played an important role in developing field hockey in the country for five decades. As Luxembourg’s only field hockey club, it brings together a diverse community of youth and senior players. With limited domestic competition available, several of the club’s teams also compete across the border in Belgium, connecting hockey in Luxembourg with one of Europe’s largest hockey communities.
Boy Konen is at the centre of that activity.
Located in Cessange, the municipal sports complex is home to a wide range of sports, including hockey, football, rugby, athletics and cycling. The renewed hockey pitch gives Hockey Club Luxembourg a dedicated surface for its training sessions and home matches.
GreenFields TX Pro
For the renovation, GreenFields TX Pro was selected. Developed specifically for hockey, TX Pro provides the fast and consistent ball behaviour required for the modern game. The dense surface supports precise passing and predictable ball roll, while providing players with the grip and stability needed for quick changes of direction. The system is designed for intensive hockey use and forms part of GreenFields’ range of hockey surfaces developed to meet international performance requirements. The new pitch provides Hockey Club Luxembourg with a high quality playing environment across different levels of the club, from young players learning the game to senior players training and competing.
Supporting the future of hockey in Luxembourg
For a club that has been developing hockey in Luxembourg since 1976, the new pitch is about more than replacing a surface. It provides a new foundation for training, competition and the continued development of the sport in the country. A new chapter for hockey at Boy Konen, ready for many more years of play.
